FAQ – Your Questions About Buying Used CDs Answered
FAQ: CD condition grading, Dutch terms translation, account registration, PayPal payments and shipping at Musictastershop.
Every item at Musictastershop carries a clear condition statement in its product description. Understanding these terms before you buy ensures you always receive exactly what you expect.
State (Staat) Descriptions
The CD grading guide for state at Musictastershop uses the following terms:
- Staat: Gebruikt – The disc is used. A further condition grade (below) specifies playback quality.
- Staat: Nieuw – New, but previously opened. Not played; may show that it was displayed or opened.
- Staat: Nieuw in plastic – New and factory sealed. Never opened. The disc is in the exact state it left the pressing plant.
Condition (Conditie) Grades for Used Discs
The used vs new CD distinction is just the first part. Used discs carry an additional condition grade:
- Conditie: Goed (Good) – Plays without issue. Minor surface marks may be present but do not affect playback.
- Conditie: Zeer goed (Very Good) – Near-pristine. Light use evident; plays perfectly.
- Conditie: Als nieuw (Like New) – Indistinguishable from a new disc in appearance and playback.
Any condition detail beyond these standard grades – a crack in the jewel case, a water-stained booklet, a promo punch hole – is always written explicitly in the product description. Reading the full description before purchasing is always recommended.
